Jury

The One Rendering Challenge jury comprises practitioners and thought leaders from the worlds of architecture, design and technology, each with a special connection to rendering. The jury represents those leaders who are actively bringing architecture to the public today, both online and in the built environment. For entrants and winners, this is an opportunity to get their work in front of the people shaping how the world engages with architecture now and in the future.

Matthew Bannister

Matthew Bannister co-founded DBOX in 1996 immediately upon completing his graduate studies at Princeton University. His vision was to build a unique multi-disciplinary design and communications agency that produces intelligent campaigns for clients in property development, architecture and the arts. By 2006, Matthew was named one of ‘The World's Top Creatives Under 40’ by Wallpaper* magazine, and in 2015 he was named one of ‘The 20 Biggest Power Players In New York City Real Estate’ by the New York Post. Under his leadership, DBOX has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Emmy® Award.

Ronen Bekerman

Ronen Bekerman is an industry leader in Architectural Visualization. Cofounder of The Craft studio, Ronen runs the most influential architectural visualization blog hosting in-depth tutorials written by some of the world’s best rendering artists, showcasing their work daily. Specializing in high-end photorealistic computer-generated images and animations, Ronen and The Craft team are helping developers, branding agencies, architects, interior designers and landscapers to visualize their visions of the future.

Vincent Callebaut

Belgian-born, Paris-based lead Archibiotect Vincent Callebaut designs and builds with the future in mind. Biomimetic and plus-energy buildings that produce their own power, vertical forests, pollution-removing towers and boats, floating cities and oceanscrapers, vertical food farms. Discover its projects that meet the major urban and ecological challenges of the 21st century. Constantly challenging conventional ideas and pushing architectural boundaries, Vincent Callebaut has single-handedly spearheaded green and sustainable design, taking it to the next level. Known for his ecovisions that surpasses the human imagination, his cutting-edge ideas give hope for a better future.

Keely Colcleugh

A renowned designer and visualizer, Keely has worked with leading architecture practices, including Rem Koolhaus (OMA), Bruce Mau Design, SOM and Ateliers Jean Nouvel. Keely has also worked as a previsualization and visual effects artist for feature films such as Iron Man and Superman Returns. In 2009, Keely founded Kilograph with a desire to combine leading edge visualization techniques with animation, interactive design, graphics and branding. She is also a board member at the A+D Museum of Los Angeles, President of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI) and a returning member of the Jury for the Architizer A+ Awards.

Carlotta Cominetti

After graduating with a degree in architecture and studying photography at Politecnico di Milano, Carlotta moved to Paris to work as a concept developer and 3D artist for several architecture studios. In love with architecture and passionate about spaces, forms and materials she was searching for the right way to express her passion and in 2013 she co-founded arch-viz studio Virginlemon, an award-winning architectural visualization studio and winner of the inaugural One Rendering Challenge. Carlotta has worldwide with leading architecture firms while also developing personal works, trying to create scenarios beyond those that replicate reality.

Mengyi Fan

Mengyi is currently the Director of Visualization at SHoP Architects. She has worked in multiple roles of expertise in the architectural field with a focus on the New York metropolitan area, ranging from lighting design for major infrastructural projects including MHJIT at Atlanta Airport and the George Washington Bridge to creating exhibitions that utilize social media as a design tool. For the last 9 years at SHoP Architects, Mengyi has played a role in almost every project at the firm, working closely with partners to use visualization and emerging technology as design tools to realize SHoP’s architectural vision. Notable projects at SHoP include Barclays Center and 111 W57th Street in New York, Uber’s new headquarters in San Francisco, and Detroit Hudson’s downtown revitalization.

Alex Hogrefe

Alex is the creator of visualizingarchitecture.com, a website that explores architectural graphics and representational techniques. He is also the co-founder of Design Distill, an Architectural 3D Rendering Studio located in Boston, MA. Alex attended Bowling Green State University, Ohio for his BA in architecture and the Miami University of Ohio for his Masters in Architecture, before moving to Boston to work as an architect. Today, he continues to refine his visualization skills through the development of new and challenging illustrations on his website, as well as lecturing and giving workshops, and studying all visualization styles, old and new.

Bennett Oh

Bennett is a designer and content creator known for creating Archi Hacks. Under his leadership, Archi Hacks shares free visualization techniques and architecture life hacks through YouTube, garnerly almost half a million views to this date. Bennett's past experience includes employment at offices such as BIG and OMA, where he engaged in numerous conceptual and built works around the globe. In addition to his online presence, he caters to private clients focusing on residential and commercial design.

Duy Phan

Born and raised in Vietnam, Duy made his way to Melbourne, Australia in 2017 after working as an architect and made architectural visualization his career. Known for his “Hyperrealism” approach, Duy’s works stretch reality to provoke curiosity for the appearance of unbuilt architecture. Duy had two Commended Entries in the 1st Annual One Rendering Challenge, as well as winning 1st place in Tomorrow Challenge 2020 and the Student Award of Distinction by the American Society of Architectural Illustrators. Currently, Duy is a Senior 3D artist at Binyan Studio where he is collaborating with many best 3D artists in Australia and the world.

Juan Rico

Juan is an architect, 3D visualiser, founder and active director at Methanoia, a design company that provides a comprehensive service for real estate developers, comprising architecture, interior design and brand communication depicted through visualisations. The company works with the world’s most renowned architecture firms and real estate developers, such as Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid, BIG, Emaar, Aecom, UN Studio, Related Group, Cervera and Dubai Properties.

Paul Keskeys

Paul is a registered UK architect, writer and editor based in New York City. A graduate from UCL and the University of Edinburgh, gaining an MArch in Architectural Design with distinction, Paul was nominated for the RIAS Silver Medal in 2009. Paul is currently the Content Director at Architizer, with features also published in Architectural Digest, PIN—UP Magazine, Archinect, Aesthetica Magazine and PUBLIC Journal.
